On the way to Deep Sea World

The Witchery Tour was extremely funny and so was the drunk guy and the monk.  I liked Deep Sea World because you got to go so close to the sharks.  The Hostel deserved its 5 stars.

By James Taylor

I loved Deep Sea World because it was exciting and the sharks were huge.  I really enjoyed Star Trek it was full of excitement.  The Hostel was really nice and I loved how you had to slide your card to get into your bedroom.

P7 EDINBURGH TRIP May 2008

Primary 7 pupils from Deshar and Abernethy joined up for a residential trip to Edinburgh on Monday 12th May. The group stayed at the SYHA Central Hostel for four nights. The following are extracts from their diaries:

 Tuesday 13th May, 2008

Today lots of weird and wonderful things happened to me today.  I saw a very big iceberg and we saw an indoor rain forest which was very weird.  Then we had a room inspection and we got 10 out of 10.   Aaron Bell

Tuesday 13th May, 2008 I found the sharks interesting because I learnt a lot.  I also found the castle interesting.  The view was fantastic.  I didn’t know that the Mons Meg could fire 2 miles.

Thursday 15th May, 2008 After lunch we went to the Museum of Childhood.  It was a museum full of toys and books from a while ago.  One room was full of dolls, most of them looked scary.  The best part of the Museum of Childhood was the little shop it had all sorts of different things in it. The best thing about Edinburgh was everything!

Thursday 15th May, 2008

Today we went to Dynamic Earth it was absolutely amazing, my favourite part was the volcano eruption and the twirling seats.  After Dynamic Earth we went to the Childhood Museum.  It was very good but I preferred Dynamic Earth.  In the Museum there was a room filled with dolls, it was quite scary when you were left alone with them and the music box started playing.

The best thing about Edinburgh was the whole thing.

The worst thing about Edinburgh was the cold and the wind.

EDINBURGH 2007

Primary 7s from Deshar and Abernethy at the Botanic Gardens.

Our Primary 7 pupils joined up with P7 from Abernethy to visit Edinburgh. The pupils stayed at the Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel and had a busy week visiting many of the capitals’ places of interest. The school would like to thank Mrs. MacEwan and Mrs. Black for giving up their time to accompany the children.

Whilst on the trip the pupils had to keep a diary. Here are some extracts:

 MONDAY

Today was okay.  The youth hostel is nice but the food was gross.  Though for pudding it was ice cream so that was nice.  The bus tour was okay, it was fun sitting next to Jemma.  We saw a man on a bike that got hit by a car but he was fine.

 TUESDAY

Today was the best day so far.  First we went to dynamic earth and looked at rocks and things like that.  Next we had a long trek to the museum of childhood.  Then we went to see Gray Friar Bobby’s grave.  Today was great.  I learnt I can walk without crutches.  The food always was pasta.  I am sick of it.

My two best things about Edinburgh were:  bowling and shopping.

By Jessica Gordon

TUESDAY

Today for breakfast I had two croissants, one bit of watermelon and a glass of orange juice.  I loved it!  We then took two buses to the botanic gardens.  They were huge!  We were then taken by a lady called Cath.  She told and showed us all there was to know!  Then we went shopping.

My two best things about Edinburgh were:   bowling and everything else!  Especially the food!

TUESDAY

Jess fell off her bunk bed and has crutches.  Last night me, Pheobe and Kalli got locked out of our room and our key was inside.  We went to Botanic Gardens and got two try some different food like dried blueberries, papaya, jelly beans, chocolate and leaves.

Breakfast was amazing and later we’re going bowling. Woooooooooooooo

The Royal Yacht of Brittania was fascinating.  Shopping was great.  The Castle was interesting but the Witchery tour was amazing and cool.

WEDNESDAY

Today I enjoyed my time at Dynamic Earth.  The reason why is I had never been to Dynamic Earth and it was fun.

My two best things about Edinburgh were what we were doing today.  Having the tour around the Queen’s ship and the other was bowling.

WEDNESDAY

Today we went to Dynamic Earth and the museum of childhood.  Dynamic Earth was good but I didn’t like the bright lights that flashed.  It hurt my eyes.  Museum of Childhood was good some of the toys back then were quite cool.

Royal Yacht Britannia was really good because I learnt a lot oh and breakfast was really nice!!
