2. Charity Status

It was agreed to go ahead, Giles suggested he complete the application and meet with the Chairperson and Treasurer to agree it. This was also agreed.

3. Constiutional Change

The constitution change attached to these minutes was agreed

4. Events/Activities

Halloween

We agreed that certain events at the party being run by the Hall Company would be run by the parent Council as below

Raffle – we need to appeal for raffle prizes
Lantern Competition – Ene to arrange prizes
Fancy Dress Competition
‘Gooey lucky dip’ – Heidi to organise

Sam will do the notices

5 Nov Bonfire

Lorna will ask the below to help: John McGilvray, Gordon Garrow, James Gordon, Frank Spencer, John Gordon, Graham Gregson.

James McGilvray will be asked to arrange transport of wood to the site.

The Community Council will donate the fireworks

Sam will arrange with Police and Highland Council

Sam will publicise in Bog Standard and Speysound via Emma MacDonald

Lorna will speak to Shareon Gordon about a chocolate fountain

Sam to check with Karen that our insurance covers us

Publication of a 2010 Calendar

We agreed to a grant of up to £200 for the school to produce a calendar

Space must be allowed for a webshop advert and a maximum of one Boat of Garten Traders advert on each page.

Adverts from traders would cost £20, Giles to advertise their availability in BOG standard

It will be offered for sale in village shops. School may decide to distribute free to pupils.

Giles would also seek Key Village Dates for mentioning on the calendar via BOG standard

Deadline for copy 30 Nov, likely production method would be school photocopier but school could chose another method providing the net loss was under £200.

Giles to check with Howard he is happy with this.

Christmas Party

One is being run for the kids by Boat of Garten Holiday Park. Austin and Vicki at the park have said that profit on certain activities could be donated to the Parent Council.

It will take place in the Hall

Heidi, Sam and Sandra will seek a meeting with Vicki and Austin to offer their help/ideas.

Children Attending Places of Entertainment

It had been discussed on 1 Oct that the parent Council could potentially financially support any activities run by school, and also with parent participation – perhaps by driving children although we agreed that Public Transport provided an interesting experience for the Children. The issue of the need for Parent Volunteers to be checked as free of Criminal Convictions was raised and it was decided that we should all offer ourselves to be vetted. Giles to ask Howard for the forms.
