The sale raised £70.90 Thanks to everyone who came to the sale.
Pupil Council Meeting
3rd February 2010
Matters arising from previous meeting.
- MPCs were delighted with the success of the ‘Coffee and Carols’ event for Shelter held in December.
- It will not be possible to get bags and ponchos with school logos. MPCs agreed it would be too expensive and not very popular.
- The idea of a no paper day will be discussed by the Eco Committee when they put together the Action Plan for 2010.
Minutes of Meeting.
- MPCs agreed to hold a Bring and Buy Sale on Wednesday 17th March. This will be in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Disaster Fund. MPCs also want to make this a wear a ‘Hat for Haiti’ day. Everyone has to pay a £1 to wear a hat and a competition will be held for the most creative hat.
- The MPCs discussed plans for the new sheds and shelter. Mr. Edge showed MPCs some plans and Alasdair and Jessica are to ask pupils for their ideas.
- Suggestion Box: A request for a school pet was turned down. Mr. Edge is to find out prices for hoodies and tracksuit bottoms with the Deshar logo. Pupils, parents and staff to be consulted.

Matters Arising from previous meeting:
The 4 square will be repainted when the janitor gets a dry day to do the job.
The MPCS will do some baking for the Shelter fundraiser on 17 th December. This is a 'coffee and carols' event.
Jessica, Megan and Sally volunteered to make leaflets and posters.
Minutes of meeting:
1. MPCs asked for gymbags and ponchos with a school logo to be made available for pupils. Mr. Edge will find out about costs.
2. There was a suggestion for a no paper day. This will be passed on to the Eco Ciommittee.
3. Pupils from P6/7 asked for a bird watching walk with Paul from RSPB. Mr. Edge will speak to Miss McDonald.
4. There was a request for a Teddy Bear Day. Mr. Edge informed the MPCs that there would have to be some purpose to this apart from just playing.
5. There was a request for jam on toast and popcorn at the tuck shop. Mr. Edge will speak to the canteen staff.
6.It was suggested that certificates should not be handed out to House Point winners in ordrr to save paper. Although this is a good eco school suggestion, it was felt that certificates need to be handed out so that pupils ahve a record of their good work.
7. It was reported that the rolling log is getting slippy when wet. It was agreed that the obstacle course should be closed when the weather is bad.
PUPIL COUNCIL MEETING 28.9.09
- The MPCs have decided to support the following charities this session: Blue Peter’s Operation Smile in February or March next year and the Shelter Christmas Carol Appeal.
- There was a request for a new outside play house. Most MPCs thought the one we have is alright. MPCs will keep an eye on this.
- Some pupils want monkey bars the MPCs agreed this couldn’t happen because we don’t have enough money. It would cost over £3000.
- Megan wants a lunchtime cheerleading club. MPCs to ask Mrs. Dobbie.
- MPCs would like some new footballs. Mr. Edge will see if he can get some but he wants pupils to make sure balls and toys are brought inside at the end of playtimes.
- There was a request for the 4 square to be repainted. Mr. Edge will ask the janitor to do this.
- The MPCs liked Miss McDonald's idea for winning house pupils to be able to bank their extra playtime. This would allow them to go out when friends in other houses are having their extra five minutes.
- MPCs pointed out that the footballers were getting the pitch everyday. A rota needs to be set up. It was suggested that the pitch should not be used by footballers on Wednesday and Friday.
