Paul Kendall from RSPB visited the Nursery class in December to tell them about hibernation.

Mrs.McKenna was presented with flowers to mark her last Sports Day at Deshar. Mrs. McKenna will be retiring at the end of the school year. The school would like to thank her and wish her all the best for the future.

CLIMBING WALL

PRIMARY 6 and 7 on the Extreme Dream Climbing wall in April 2008.

 

Primary 4 and 5 enjoyed a session on the climbing wall at Extreme Dream in Aviemore on 28th February.

RAASAY September 2007

Primary 6 joined pupils from Abernethy for a residential trip to the Isle of Raasay on 3rd September 2007. The children stayed at the Raasay Outdoor Centre. Here are some pictures and thoughts about their stay.

On Raasay I learned to rock climb. The two most exciting things were climbing and coasteering. I give Raasay ten out of ten because it was fantastic. By Sean MacAdam.

On Tuesday we did climbing and abseiling. I loved climbing because I liked going high up and abseiling because I liked falling through the air very slowly. By James Taylor

On Raasay I learned to abseil, found out I was a very fast climber and half learned to sail. The two most exciting things I did were coasteering and sharing a room with my friends. By Alice Bootle.

On Wednesday we went abseiling down a cliff face. It was so fun because we were lowered by Ally the instructor. For dinner we had lasagne and salad, it was ok. The two most exciting things I did were kayaking and cratering. By Carla Sermanni

 

I enjoyed the coasteering because I faced my fear and swam in the sea [and got cold!] The two most exciting things I did were abseiling and coasteering. I give Raasay 9 out of 10 because it was exciting. By Luci Ireland.

 

I give Raasay 9 out of 10 because I had a really good time and because the food was good. On Raasay I learned to be a team member. I liked canoeing and climbing. By James McLeod.

 

The otter group go sailing.

On Tuesday we went Kayaking. It was really fun. The best part was playing head shoulders knees and jump while standing on the kayak. On Wednesday the dinner was lovely lasagne, salad and garlic bread then a donut and a bit of Alice’s birthday cake. By Mairi Blair

  

On Wednesday we went sailing. It was an amazing experience. I will never forget it. After that we went coasteering it was so cold. I thought a current would suck me away. At night we had a quiz and a scavenger hunt. It was exciting. By Ross Miller.

 

On Raasay I learned to use a canoe better. The most exciting things were canoeing and abseiling. Canoeing was really fun. I would give Raasay 8 out of 10 because of the midges. By Jared Gordon.
